He was the accident that neither of his parents knew they were hoping for. Born in Chicago, Illinois to the wealthy Vanderbilt family, Theodore Vanderbilt was the little bit of grace his parents had been praying for. Along with four other siblings, him being the youngest, he was also the most responsible of the four. While it had been painfully obvious that Diana and Gregory Vanderbilt only wanted the best for their children, it was also even more obvious that they had spoiled their kin as much as possible. While his siblings begged and pleaded for this toy and this outfit, he never really asked for anything. Noticing how quiet his youngest son was, Gregory found himself taking more time than he usually would out of his busy schedule to exactly find out why his son was nothing like his other children; to figure out why he was so inverted. One fall day, Theo was called into his father's office and he received a small parcel. While confused yet intrigued, the youngest child took it up into his room and laying in the paper was a pair of drumsticks. From that moment on, everything he wanted to say was said in beats, rhythms and taps.
As Theodore grew older, his father enrolled him in countless lessons that he kept a secret from the rest of the family aside from his mother. There was no reason to explain to his siblings how well his skills were becoming over the years, they wouldn't have cared. His mother never complained about the racket he had made as he grew, instead she helped him with his studies when he wasn't scribbling down new patterns and lyrics so they later could be combined with his teacher that he met every Wednesday after school. When he hit sixteen, instead of a car like his brothers had asked for, he was giving a new top of the line drumset along with a Fender Stratocaster and his lessons were steadily increased from one night a week to four. As his siblings continually flirted around with their failing grades, leaving their parents to leave above average donations to keep their children from flunking out, Theo graduated from his private high school with the highest honors, a full ride scholarship to the University of Illinois with his drumsticks under his robe and a guitar pick around his neck.
He concentrated on music studies and a minor degree in English as he steadily moved through college at an accelerated pace. Along the way he met a beautiful girl by the name of Victoria, who he quickly became close friends with and then was later introduced to her cousin. This resulted in steady jam sessions at local frat parties, even in their dorm rooms. His last name always raised a few eyebrows, knowing who his family was but Theo pushed it aside: he didn't want his last name to get him anywhere. Once graduating, he lost track of Victoria but made friends with several other young men from his graduating class and over the summer, the band All Circuits Down was formed. Starting off on a local tour before heading to New York City (with the financial help from his father), it wasn't until late 2005 that All Circuits Down had made it bigger than they hoped. While they weren't signed to a major label, nor a label in the slightest, they had developed a cult following all the way to the sandy beaches of South Florida, where the rock music scene didn't thrive, it pounded.
Riding on the brink of their success with plans to drop a new album in late April, he found himself back in Chicago to recuperate with finding an old flame, reconnecting with old friends and just for now knowing that he owed his fame to his father and not just his last name.
